The following letter was published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix, on June. 26, 2021.
As a member of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, I am heartbroken to hear about the horrific and targeted attack on a Muslim family in London, Ontario, which has taken four innocent lives and injured one.
The Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, his Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad has been continuously educating the wider community to promote the slogan of “Innocent lives matter” to combat hate-motivated crimes based on religious differences. Similarly, the Holy Qur’an declares that killing of an innocent person is akin to the killing of entire mankind.
It is inconceivable that such a senseless attack would take place in Canada, a country that values and promotes religious freedom and inter-religious harmony. My deepest thoughts and prayers are for the victims and their family. May God grant the nine-year-old survivor full recovery and healthy life and enable him to remain steadfast during this time of trial.
