Blame the culprits

The following letter was published by Toronto Sun on May. 31, 2013

Following the recent gruesome murder of British soldier Lee Rigby, I don’t blame people for their misconceptions about Islam. I just hope they don’t base their opinion on the acts of a minority of lunatics. I also commend British Prime Minister David Cameron for blaming the culprits rather than Islam. Mirza Masroor Ahmad, global leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, has been campaigning across the world for several years, speaking to leaders and audiences from different countries, advocating the tolerant and peaceful nature of Islam. Last week, he invited all faiths to a mosque inauguration in Vancouver, B.C., declaring people would find only love and peace inside the building. If opinions were based on such people rather than terrorists, maybe the world would be a less angry place.
