As an Ahmadi Muslim, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Roman Catholic Christians on the election of their Pope. As the white smoke came, it was a moment worth watching to see joy on faces of Christians that once again they have a Pope amongst them.

In this day and age, spiritual leaders are required to guide the world through the trials and tribulations. A spiritual leader should be one who shares pains and sorrows of his congregation and prays for them and the entire world at large. Leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mirza Masroor Ahmad in his congratulatory message to Pope Francis I said, “May the appointment of the new Pope prove to be blessed not just for Christians but for all people across the globe.”

His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad strives for world peace by saying, “I hope and pray that in the forthcoming era the Pope uses his influence to develop peace and harmony in the world.” This should be the pivotal goal of a spiritual leader to unite all religions to work towards betterment of Humanity.
