As a humanitarian and a proud father of four children, each day lays heavy on me as I ponder why the global powers cannot use wisdom and dialogue to resolve this conflict that has no military solution. Growing up, we all saw movies showing the superhero arriving just in time to save innocent lives. However, in the land of Palestine there is no rescue and just utter destruction. Where is the humanity in all this conflict? One spark of hope I see is in the peaceful protests by students started in the U.S. and spread throughout the world including here in Canada. It was the students who were on the right side of history in the protests against the Vietnam War yet were vilified in the midst of it, similar to what is being depicted today. It is important to highlight the vast majority of the protests are peaceful and joined by people of all faiths including fellow Jewish students. As an Ahmadi Muslim, Muslims who believe in the Messiah, I am taught that the killing of a single innocent person is as if you have killed all of humanity whereas saving an innocent person is as if you have saved the world — for that person. It is with heartfelt desire that I pray that no more innocent lives be destroyed and the global leaders in this conflict come to their senses to resolve the matter with dialogue and not utter destruction.

(The terrorists Hamas need to release all the hostages and then there can be a proper resolution to this conflict)
